What salary can you expect in Kuwait?
In Kuwait, salary for an expat is usually divided into base salary – 70%, reimbursement of housing costs – 20% and transportation – 10%. Some companies offer lower wages, but provide workers with housing and transportation.
The national average salaries are as follows. Waiters receive 200-350 dinars (42 024-73 542 R). You can’t count on tips in Kuwait – it’s not customary in Muslim countries. Ancillary workers in a restaurant receive about 150 dinars (31,518 R). Cooks receive an average of 200-400 dinars (42,024-84,048 R). The salary of managers depends on the experience and skills of a particular employee and position in the managerial staff – 500-2000 dinars (105,060-420,240 R).
What do you need to move to Kuwait?
Foreign nationals need a visa to enter Kuwait: work, business, tourist or family reunification. For all types of visas, an invitation from the sponsor is required. The sponsor can be an employer, family member, hotel or other travel organization.
An employer is usually responsible for obtaining a work visa.
To enter Kuwait on a work visa, you need:
– Passport valid for at least 6 months.
– Entry permit – NOC or Entry permit from the Ministry of the Interior of Kuwait.
– Certificate of no criminal record.
– Medical certificate confirming the absence of AIDS, syphilis, hepatitis B and C, tuberculosis.
– General health certificate from a therapist.
– Application form.
– Photo 3 × 4 cm.
Documents for a visa to Kuwait did not need to be apostilled, but legalized. Apostille and consular legalization is the affixing of special stamps on official documents in order to confirm their validity in a foreign country.
What should you know about residency in Kuwait?
It is better not to go outside without identity documents and the reason for staying in Kuwait. The police arrange periodic checks not only on the roads, but also on the pedestrian streets.
Upon arrival in Kuwait, you need to re-issue a visa from work to resident and obtain a local identity card. Your employer is responsible for the reissuance of documents. The process takes 2-3 months, during which you cannot leave the country.
